We started out Bastille Day at the Louvre, which was free for the holiday. In order to avoid too much pandemonium, we got into line early. The queue was already huge.
After we were done enriching ourselves, we wandered around some of the other sites in the city. Random side streets, Sacre Coeur, and Notre Dame.
In the evening, we went to stake out a place at the Eiffel Tower for the fireworks show. They lit up the tower and had a great show. I only wish I could have gotten closer, but I didn't even know where the fireworks were being launched until that night. One of the hazards of hopping into a strange city - you have no idea what's going on. Turned out alright, though, and the fireworks were fabulous!
